Magnificat Program Offerings

While all of Magnificat's programs are available for touring, three have been chosen here as representative of the breadth and variety of Magnificat's work. Magnificat is also available for collaborative projects, like those we have done with The Kronos Quartet, The Berkeley Early Music Festival, and The Carter Family Marionettes.

Claudio Monteverdi - A Due Voci Pari
Music by Monteverdi and his Colleagues for two sopranos, two violins and continuo.

In one of their most popular programs, Magnificat offers a bouquet of favorites from the towering figure of the Early Baroque along with gems from the first flowering of virtuoso instrument music.

Chiara Margarita Cozzolani - Vespers or Mass
Music by Cozzolani for Vespers or Mass for 8-12 musicians.

Magnificat's critically acclaimed recordings and performances of the music of the Benedictine nun Chiara Margarita Cozzolani have established her as one of the finest composers of the Baroque, or any period.

Marc-Antoine Charpentier - Nativity Pastorale
Music by Charpentier together with traditional French noëls for 14 musicians.

Magnificat's most beloved Christmas program, this varied and colorful program features music that Charpentier wrote in the 1680s together with his arrangements of traditional noëls.
